Season planning

A running training plan built around goal races

In the macrocycle you set up phases with planned weekly volume in hours and planned intensity in percent. Each race gets a priority as a main, important or build-up competition, plus level and location. The macrocycle shows a countdown to the next important competition, and main competitions carry a star.

For the final weeks, competition planning lends a hand: “Create competition preparation” suggests reducing planned weekly volume in stages while intensity stays the same. The baseline is the average volume of the four preceding weeks. You check the preview first and then apply the proposal.

  • Results as time, with optional placing
  • Training camps, travel days and absences in the same calendar
  • Week copy, even into another athlete's calendar
  • Calendar subscription for Google, Apple or Outlook

Sessions and strength

Plan runs, rides, swims and strength training

You add a run to a program as its own sport row. It brings its required fields with it, usually duration and RPE, often distance as well. For triathletes the same works for cycling and swimming. The catalog of about 40 parameters includes pace, heart rate and speed, and for intervals there is a dedicated block type with work and rest time.

For strength work you can draw on over 1,600 exercises, including more than 30 running technique drills plus exercises for jumps, core stability, foot and ankle. In the app's workout mode the athlete works set by set, with planned values already filled in. Methodologies serve as templates for building a section, and 17 of them cover endurance.

  • Sport row for running, cycling or swimming
  • More than 30 running technique drills in the exercise library
  • Section timer for interval, circuit, EMOM and AMRAP in the app
  • Load suggestion and last performance in workout mode

Tests and recordings

Running tests, swim tests and FIT files from your watch

The test catalog holds about 150 tests, including the Cooper test, 1, 3 and 5 km time trials, critical speed, VO₂max (lab) and lactate threshold. For triathletes there are swim tests over 100 and 400 m and the FTP test for the bike. With several participants you get a ranking, and each athlete sees only their own results.

The performance profile also holds threshold pace and critical swim speed (CSS); there is no dedicated CSS test, so you enter that value by hand. Recorded sessions are uploaded on a computer as FIT or GPX files (Analysis page, Pro). Tletify shows the route, heart rate and elevation gain, calculates time in heart rate zones and TRIMP, and links the file to the matching program.

There is no direct connection to Garmin, Polar, Suunto, COROS or Strava, and workouts cannot be sent to a watch. Through the app, Apple Health or Health Connect provide daily values such as resting heart rate, heart rate variability and sleep.

Readiness and load

Daily check and training load: see how the week lands

In the daily check the athlete answers four questions on a scale of 1 to 5: sleep quality, energy level, muscle soreness and mood. This produces a readiness score from 0 to 100. If a watch is connected through Apple Health or Health Connect, HRV, resting heart rate, sleep and blood oxygen are factored in too. You only see the daily check with the athlete's permission.

Tletify calculates daily load as session RPE: duration in minutes times RPE. From that the coach gets the acute:chronic workload ratio (ACWR), monotony and strain, which show when a week falls outside the usual range. Strength work and jumps are tracked separately as tonnage and ground contacts. With too few sessions you see “Not enough data” instead of a number, and athletes never see these metrics.

  • Context tags such as travel or a recent competition
  • Missing days stay empty instead of counting as 0
  • Taper analysis for the 14 days before a competition (Pro)
  • Season view of weekly load with competitions marked (Pro)

Questions and answers

Can I send training plans to Garmin or COROS?

No. Tletify has no direct connection to watch makers or Strava and does not send structured workouts to a watch. Runs come in as FIT or GPX files uploaded on a computer, and daily values such as resting heart rate and sleep come through Apple Health or Health Connect in the app.

Is there a CSS test for swimming?

There is no dedicated CSS test. The test catalog includes swim tests over 100 and 400 m, and you enter critical swim speed in the performance profile by hand, just like threshold heart rate.

Does Tletify work for running groups and clubs?

Yes. With Pro you can send a program to up to 20 athletes, identical for all or adjusted per athlete, and add whole groups in one step. With the Team plan you invite athletes through subaccounts. Read more on the page for teams.

Do my athletes see their ACWR values?

No. The acute:chronic workload ratio (ACWR), monotony, strain and the form curve are visible only to coaches with a Pro or Team plan, and only with the athlete's permission. Athletes see readiness, sleep, HRV and their daily check values on their dashboard. The training load management page explains how Tletify calculates.

Can I plan on my own, without a coach?

Yes. With Basic you plan your own macrocycle, mesocycle and microcycle, log tests and competitions and use the daily check. FIT upload and load metrics are part of Pro. More on the page for athletes.
