TrainingPeaks at a glance

What TrainingPeaks is built for and where it is strong

TrainingPeaks is based in Louisville, Colorado (USA), and serves coaches and athletes in endurance sports, especially triathlon, cycling and running. Since July 2024, its Strength Workout Builder has covered strength sessions, with more than 1,000 exercises and videos according to the company. Since July 2026, TrainingPeaks has been part of Garmin.

Device connectivity is a clear strength. According to its help center, TrainingPeaks is compatible with hundreds of devices, apps and programs, and structured workouts sync automatically to watches and bike computers from Apple, Wahoo, Polar, Coros and Suunto as well as to some Garmin devices. If sending workouts straight to the watch matters to you, TrainingPeaks is the better fit: Tletify has no direct connection to watch makers.

  • Annual Training Plan for season planning over 9 to 18 months
  • Performance Management Chart with Fitness, Fatigue and Form based on TSS
  • Marketplace where coaches sell their training plans
  • Apps for iOS and Android, plus the indoor cycling platform TrainingPeaks Virtual

What Tletify does differently

Tletify as a TrainingPeaks alternative: a different approach

Tletify plans from the macrocycle through mesocycle and microcycle down to the single set. Every set has a planned and an actual value: your prescription stays in place, and the athlete logs what they actually did. On top of that come an exercise library with more than 1,600 exercises, a catalog of about 150 tests and competition planning with priority, level and results.

Tletify calculates load as session RPE: duration in minutes times RPE. From that come the acute:chronic workload ratio (ACWR), monotony and strain, which show when a week is out of the ordinary. Only coaches on Pro or Team see these metrics, not athletes on Basic. In the TrainingPeaks help center (as of 8 October 2026), we did not find a feature for sRPE load (RPE × duration).

In the daily check, athletes answer four questions on sleep quality, energy level, muscle soreness and mood. For clubs, the Team plan combines Pro slots for coaches and Basic slots for athletes, and groups have roles such as physiotherapist. You only see an athlete's daily check, analysis or body profile with their explicit permission, which they can revoke at any time.

The pricing models differ mainly in who pays for the athletes. On TrainingPeaks, Athlete Basic is free, while Athlete Premium costs USD 19.95 per month or USD 134.99 per year, with a 14-day free trial. Coaches pay USD 21.99 per month for the Coach Edition, which includes one Premium and four Basic athletes, or USD 54.99 per month for the Coach Edition Unlimited with unlimited Basic athletes.

Opening a coach account adds a USD 99 activation fee, which the pricing page says is waived with a coupon code; the coach trial lasts 7 days. Premium is paid by the athlete or by the coach. All prices according to the official TrainingPeaks website and help center, in US dollars, as of 8 October 2026.

Tletify is priced in euros and has no free plan, not even for athletes. Basic for your own training costs €20 per month (€17 per month billed yearly), Pro for planning for others €60 per month (€50 billed yearly). Athletes pay for Basic themselves, or the coach books a Team plan with Pro and Basic slots from €93 per month. From launch, there is a 30-day free trial. Which model costs less depends on how many athletes you coach and who pays.

An honest assessment

TrainingPeaks or Tletify: which fits whom

TrainingPeaks is a good fit if you mainly coach endurance athletes who train with a watch or bike computer and you want workouts to land directly on the device. It is also the obvious choice if you want to sell plans through a marketplace, if your athletes should get by with the free Athlete Basic plan or if you want to start right away, since Tletify only launches on 1 January 2027.

Tletify fits if you plan down to the single set and want to compare prescription and actual values, if strength, conditioning, tests and competitions are part of your work and you track load with session RPE. The same goes for clubs and teams where several coaches, physiotherapists and athletes work together and every athlete decides what to share.

Questions and answers

Can I bring over recorded sessions from TrainingPeaks or my watch?

Yes, as files: if you have a session as a FIT or GPX file, you upload it on a computer on the Analysis page (Pro), and Tletify links it to the program scheduled at the same time. The app pulls daily values such as resting heart rate, HRV and sleep from Apple Health or Health Connect. You build training plans in Tletify itself.

Can I sell training plans with Tletify?

There is no public marketplace like the one TrainingPeaks offers. With Pro and a connected Stripe account, however, you can send paid programs to athletes you are connected with. The athlete pays via Stripe, and the invoice is issued in the currency of your Stripe account.

Is Tletify available in German and Italian?

Yes. The web app and mobile app come in English, German and Italian, with one account for both. According to its help center, TrainingPeaks is also available in German and Italian, among other languages.

When can I start using Tletify?

Tletify launches publicly on 1 January 2027, along with the apps for iPhone and Android in the stores. From launch, there is a 30-day free trial; you add a payment method at sign-up. Until then, you can join the waitlist or apply as a beta tester in the preorder.
